Ive just ordered a new set of pockets for the Carlton 4012.

Ive attached some photos of the old ones. I just want to know what you lot think of the state of them? I think they are pretty well done?

Ive heard that some people just renew the front ones as these are the most exposed - this makes sense?

Some are really hard to get out too. Is this an inherent design fault or is it because the pockets are worn?

I am staying with stick teeth too, so please dont divert off onto off brands of teeth and pockets etc.

Just want a bit of feedback from more experienced users than I...

Bolt heads look fine, thread looks fine, the bulk is just there for show so no issues there. Unless the teeth were starting to rattle around and not fitting tight then why change them?

You need to be careful that you dont unbalance it all if you just renew a couple of pockets.

They dont look too bad, i used to use the vermeer pro teeth and they were worn when the bolts stuck out further than the pockets!

Why stick with finger teeth? There not the best.

I had a feeling this would happen....lol. Its because its what i have to be honest. Also, i have a regular supply of free, once used teeth and i sharpen them self. They might not be the best but they seem to the most economical to replace when Mrs Johnson-smith's granma has lent a cast iron gutter against the Oak tree 45 years ago... So i feel its the best option for me.

I don't change my green teeth pockets untill they start to fracture down the front of the pocket. Then i replace with part worn ones if i have them or you have to replace enough to keep the wheel balanced:thumbup:
