i was fined £100 last year for a late return, whilst moaning about it in the pub a chap came up and told me as soon as id paid up the tax owed in full i could get the fine back (im guessing he was an accountant)

anyway paid the fine, then got my tax sorted then phoned the hmrc and simply asked for the fine back, got a cheque within the week!

That's worth knowing! :thumbup1:

Went to the accountant this morning.

At 59 pounds an hour, not quite certain which is the worse, fine or fees and I understand he's cheap!

Also what got me, he was clean, dry, and didn't smell of 2 stroke....

Thats nearly 15 breakfast an hour, where did I go wrong!

Agreed

Whole bill including fine now paid

I will phone next week and ask for the fine back.

I agree- seems crazy to get in this position and I never have before but this year - well - just not organised

I did think £500 was a bit much considering
