My 038 starts and runs OK But when it is hot it will sometimes cut out

and it will not start when it is hot any ideas

 

It has new plug and filters Piston & rings are not Marked and Saw is clean

no sawdust on the fin or cases

The next time it happens remove filler cap and replace, if it starts you may have a blocked tank breather creating a vacuum.
that's worth a try,my old jonsereds used to do that regular,unscrew the fuel cap and would virtually pop in your face :scared1:

I the same symptoms and it turned out to be crankshaft seals letting out the bottom end compression, new crankshaft bearings and seals.

 

Just take off the flywheel cover and check see if theres a bit of play up and down on the flywheel, if not they should be ok

Thanks I will look at that in the morning

The saw cuts fine for about 20 mins been using it today to fell and ring up a 30" Dia conifer then it just stopped almost like fuel or being turned off

I left it for 20 mins while we chipped up and it went again lasted about 15 mins then stopped again

Sounds like your coil is breaking down when hot. Next time it cuts out check the spark with the same plug from it. Leave it 20mins or so check the spark again.
