like the work monkeyd will need to try them cuts out looks damm good !!

not seen much of this work done you have inspiered me does this way work best.

 

aye heard some where of a guy doing some work on beech trees on o m.o.d range somewhere useing explosives to blow the tops out to get a natural look

Personally believe the term is an utter misnomer.

 

A coronet is exactly what the finish should not look like, IMHO.

 

 

A couple from earlier this year, and the last one a contractor did a couple of years ago

So would you say the last pic is the wrong way to do it? I,m interested in trying this and want to get it right.

Thought that's what I was trying to get over in the post.

 

 

This isn't my best attempt by anymeans (was a couple of years back) but went back a day later and redid the meat tenderisers that the contractors had left behind :sneaky2:
