Had a good one yesterday, mate has a dico 3 and couldn't select reverse, I knew the problem and fixed it in half hour.

Anyone got one and has. Had the same problem?

Bit of a search to see what other people have done to these and how much it had cost them, I struggled to know what to charge him as I was under it in the pit for an hour.

For small things, that only take a few minutes, my local garage doesn't bother charge me.

The again they charge me shed loads for all the 'big' things that go wrong.

Go to love owning a Land Rover.

if it was a 'mate' and not just a chap you know, i'd do it free, if its not a 'mate' but a regular user just say we'll sort it out next time its in and add £20 to the bill.:001_smile:

Wouldn't touch a disco3 with a barge pole, i think they look hideous IMO. And there's plenty of miles left in me td5 disco commercial before she'll be allowed to retire to the metal yard in heaven!

Yeah I don't like them either, seem to always be taking a spanner to them, had to change the hill climb brakes a few weeks back, don't even go there on how to change them, the discs have to come off and they are behind them while added to them, the parking brake also comes on auto when you turn ignition off so that has to be disabled aswell.

I would never buy one, thing is he is selling his defender and keeping the disco 3 and buying a td5. Think he is mad as I would keep the defender and sell the disco.
