resin anchor

Hi, ive got to put a low fence on top of a stone wall. There is already an existing fence bolted down on part of the fence using shield anchors and bolt down met posts.

I dont like the look of some of the stone for the new bit of fence so wanted to use resin, threaded bar and met posts. Anybody got a prefered make/ supplier of resins, tips, how much would be needed??? (there is about 24 holes/bar to do)

I bought some from screw fix to fix in some gate hinges into a stone gate post. I was going to lead them in but decided to try resin instead.

Boy does it work well, it has a 14 ft gate hung on it and it is solid, I reckon stronger than leading it in.

I,ll see if I can recognise which one I used and let you know

I have leaded them in the past but used resin when it came out years ago from Hilti, it is great stuff and Hilti does a kit. IMHO it is much better than any cheaper Screwfix stuff and you get what you pay for in this case.

Hilti Online - HIT-HY 70 Injection System

if you think it expensive compared to Screwfix........... It's a bit like Husqvarna & Stihl compared to Nutool & Ryobi chainsaws !

fichers-think that is how you spell it ,we use it all the time just remember it mixes in the nozzle so will set in it if left for a few minutes best have all the holes clean and ready and do them all at one time and as said before holes must be clean blown out and drilled a couple of mm bigger to allow enough of the resin to come back up the side of the stud
