I cut 42 kilometres of public footpaths and bridleways for our local parish council, i dont cut hedges just the grass. I use a Kubota and flail with a FS400 for the areas the tractor cant get.

I have to do 3 cuts per year, as a rough guide to cut all 42 kilometres takes me 5 days approx @ £250.00 per day (£250 x 5 = £1,250.00) - £1,250.00 divided by 42 = £29.76 Per Kilometer

Like i say thats for grass not hedges, hope that helps :thumbup1:

mate

:hmmmm2:

42km = 26.04 miles x 3 = 126 km 78.12 miles / 15 days = 8.4 km 5.208 miles per day

is that one man or two and clearance of cuttings, just trying to understand the machanics of pricing.

regards

Rob Hornett

Cheers for the replies! Thanks doobin, I will take you up on your offer if I decide to go ahead with it but to be honest it looks like I dont have the necessary equipment at the mo:(

if the work has been done by someone else last year you should be able to see there price by having a look through the parish councils accounts which are usually available on line now , that would give you an idea to see if its worth pricing
