I'd never hurd of them untill the APF. They were very impressive well built and i seem to remember they had some weird super tough blaede that ment sharpening was very infrequent.

Downside was that they were very expensive. I think the 8-10" one i was looking at was about 30k. Ended up with a Bandit 150 but i wasn't looking for a crane feed one.

i ve plenty of exp with vandaele (tv 27-40 and40-52) over here in belgium its almost the only make you have.

Thet have no knives but widia teeth that are very tough .

we abused it with anything you can imagine

you can feed them whith excavators with ease.

bought myseft a farmi 260 the only cause is the vandaele needs more hp for the same diameter .

if i could do it again id buy a vandaele , nothing but goud memories to these mahienes

I have only come across a handful in 30 years. To be honest, the only negative comment have been that the back up has not been that good, and that someone went to replace their blades and were horrified at the cost (£000s). But the seem well built if you can afford one.

never used a pto machine but hired in a road tow machine from local john deere dealship on a number on a number of occasions. the guys at the dealship say they are a pleasure to work on and a world apart re. maintenance requirements and build quality compared to the bearcat that they used to hire out. votex, tractor mounted topper and mower manufacturers are now the importers of them, who's headquarters are just down the road from me in hereford. they have a very good dealer network covering the whole of the country, so any fears regarding backup will hopefully no longer be a worry. i'd love to buy one to go on my JD 6230, but as brushcutter said they are big money. but then again if you can afford it then you should be able to reap the rewards of much better build quality etc.
