I only have limited space in my garage and single phase electrics. The wadkin sounds great, have used them before, but just not got room for one. It is to get me started on my gate making business, so basically i want to start small and see what happens. It needs to be a planer / thicknesser in all fairness, otherwise i would go for the makita thicknesser, still fancy the metabo tho, unless anyone has any bad things to say about them.

delabodge, that looks a mean machine, hope you getit up and running. love the size of the vacuum pipes coming off it. I just havent the place or the work for a machine of that size. Think i will go with the metabo.

I have just taken over a bigger workshop, sharing it with a builder ,who wants to store some stuff, and a landscape gardener,so now have more space, and shares the cost, :thumbup1:

like tommer says the metabo brand is good, I have there sander and jigsaw,,they get some grunt and just keep going!

I`ll post some pics when its working,,can plane 24"x 9" (in theory lol)
