Anyone else doing a Degree?

That's really good to know. A lot of people were disausive of such a qualification to me saying it's entirely inappropriate for the industry but clearly that's not the be all and end all. I'm really enjoying the science led approach towards the subject and feel there is a lot of ground that hasn't been covered to the nth degree like in other subjects [Merispilus Network for example].

Where do you see your degree ideally taking you? I haven't really settled on a specific goal as such for myself but would like to enter some sort of eco-arb consultancy partnership perhaps [without being too tree-hugger about it]. :001_smile:

Well for me, i'm a total career changer looking at going into amenity arb/planning etc.. Not ruling anything out though. Totally agree with you about the science element though. Interesting stuff.

I've just completed a Bsc in Sustainable Forest Management with Arboriculture & Urban Forestry at the Scottish School of Forestry.

Really enjoyed the course, comprehensive & up to date. Now I'm trying to decide which route to take, something like Eco consultancy.

I have or am still doing the Online Tech Cert at Myerscough and am siting the resit for law tomorrow. Truthfully unless they sort the online courses out i wouldn't go to them, i heard if your at the college its great but for me the online support and notes were useless. 2 out of 20 people passed this year so far. The notes and info on what to expect were not adequate. Tree life all the way i heard, although i will look to do a degree or MSc somewhere else after. You can never have enough learning.
