I priced a job at a local hospital last week. just found out they have accepted my quote but before i can proceed they need a written method statement which includes:

o what work is to be carried out

o how that work will be carried out

o a risk assessment of the procedures (this includes use of ladders, saws, chemicals etc)

We will also need to see a Public Liability Insurance document and COSHH information for any chemicals used on site.

as this is the first comercial job ive ever put in for i have no idea what the above is nor how to write 1!

please help!!!

DOnt worry about it. Think of a method statement as a very very wordy risk assessment.

Make a fairly detailed description of the work in the order it will be conducted.

Explain what all the risks and hazards are.

Detail how the work will be conducted including appropriate safety gear and PPE for each operation.

Provide your environmental policy.

Make it really brief then come back to it and pad it out with loads of words.

When you've done it once you'll get better at it and you may want to construct a template that can be adjusted for every future tender.

Good suggestion and contact your insurance agent and add the additional coverage you may require otherwise your well on your way:thumbup1:
