Part time/distance learning

Ive been looking at tree biology books and ident. books but I cant really get far by just reading on my own. So im looking for a part time course or something similar to get my theory up to scratch. I haven't got any formal theory qualifications only practical ones so Id be starting from ground level. Any recommendations? The nearest college to me is Moreton Morrel. Ive had a look on their website and they do do a couple I just dont really know where to start.

Maybe if you want to dip your toe in the water and make a start at the lower levels do the rfs level 2, if you feel more confident do the tech cert which I think is a level 4, not sure if both can be online though?

Of all the ones i'v done Tech cert with tree life was the best and has proved to be the most useful in my line of work.
