why risk what you cant get back? "YOUR LIFE"

 

I'm pretty sure he calculates the risks, in much the same way we do when we climb trees with chainsaws. It's on the same scale, albeit on different levels of that scale. He does what he does because he is sure he has the skill to pull it off and enjoys testing his ability. Its part of not being afraid to live. You could say the same about race car drivers, big wave surfers, rock climbers, circus performers and a host of others. It doesn't make him a hero, but it is commendable the life he leads.

Why are they heroes???

 

A hero is some one who risks life and limb for others.

 

While I agree its remarkable and takes a certain kind of courage, its also monumentally selfish.

 

Because he is superman ;-).
