Fair enough haha, I'm wearing Class 1 Type A's at the moment, but I'm off to college to go climbing so will need Type C at least. Is there much practical difference between 1 & 2?

And also how much difference does it make to how well you can move?

Fair enough, I might stick with the class 1's then. I want to be safe, but I don't want to spend all day in a sauna with limited mobility.

Anyone recommend any good brands? Looking for durability and comfort, as is everyone I suppose.

Ive got the class 2, design c Stihl Hiflex and i like em. The ones with the kevlar all the way up the front. They are a bit thicker but id rather sweat a little more and have decent protection. I have a pair of type A hiflex for when its just pure ground work as well.

I've also got hi-flex class2 the full length Kevlar on the front makes them more durable than the regular class1.They're still not as well built as the stretch airs but they're not as bulky and restrictive.

Try looking on the Arborist Equipment - Tree Surgeon Supplies - Climbing Accessories website. They have trousers of both sorts. The difference is that Class C has coverage all round your leg as opposed to the Class A which only cover the fron of the leg. The levels are then the speed to which the protective material has then been tested ie 18/20/24 meters per second.

I would suggest that Class C are, although pretty warm, are the better option as they offer higher protection.
