I take it you have little competition for roundwood on Arran then if you can chip it ?

 

There is actually very stiff competition and absolutely no roundwood available on Arran at all, because it is all going for biomass (a sign of the times in the West of Scotland). Either to our commercial customers with woodchip boilers (mostly hotels) or to the new 5mWe power plant under development.

 

We do, though, put a small percentage through our firewood processor to make logs..........

So are you as Arran Woodfuels competing against mainland buyers for chip wood to supply your own customers ?

Is the new plant on Arran and are you going to be supplying it ? Sorry for all the questions it's just this is my thing lol ;)

That's what I thought..............

 

I am actually sitting in my office on a platform in the middle of the Norwegian North Sea. There's no way I'm going outside to do anything, I'd rather surf Arbtalk and send an apprentice out to see if the UK is still getting our gas.........
