ok checked carb boot, impulse pipe, breather all ok. im starting to think its fuel though so will swap fuel line and filter when i can pick one up, its seems if i catch the throtle as its starts to rev out it will keep running:confused1: Might even try a different carb also. After that its going to spud.

A fuel pick up hose in the early stages of failure will cause eratic running at low revs, so its worth checking. check it under both pressure and vac if possible, whilst giving it a good stretch to open up any pinprick holes. Very simple to do.

The Ms200t carb with the accelerater pump is very finicky, so its quite possible that you have 2 duff carbs

Get hold of an 020t carb if possible as you can be more sure of it when testing.

Don't talk to me about two duff carbs - that one led me down a wobbly road:lol::lol:

Take the exaust off will find horrible pitting on the piston if its anything like my last one that had those symptoms. Sometimes better of just swallowing hard and buying a new one. This is a air mix fault with original carbs fitted to the ms200.

looked at piston when i removed the boot, clean as a wistle:thumbup:

Yes - the inlet side normally survives quite well unless the saw ingests sawdust - it is the exhaust side that gets scored up by seizing or through carbon damage etc

You will need to either do a decent compression check or to pull the exhaust off to make sure the piston is OK.
