im just running a few 'out of the box ideas' like you do . does anyone know if one of the above such as the jcb one run a post driver etc??

They can run a post knocker.

Jcb beaver pack will lift the 350kg weight on my post driver but don't expect it to be as quick as tractor hydraulics

Not if it takes 2 or 3 times the amount of time to lift the weight the full height of the mast. I know there is a massive difference between the powerpack and mog in terms of speed of hammer lift.

What would you mount a knocker on other than a tractor? (Mines on the front of the 530 70)

I have seen post drivers mounted on all manner of contraptions wierd and wonderful than needed a power pack to supply pressure. One of my favourites was a Toyota land cruiser trayback with the post driver mounted on a side shift behind the cab!
