Hello all, opinions appreciated! I curently have an old 038AV saw that is gatting rather tired shall we say. Interested to hear peoples opinions on a decent replacement. I've no loyalty to Stihl so Husky is fine. The 038 is currently on a 20" bar so would like something similar as a general purpose all rounder. I've been down the route of SH saws from fleabay and figured that with what I've spent in the past I had just as well bite the bullet and go for new and have done with it!

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Andy

Went through exactly the same process as this last year. Bought a new 038 as my first "big" saw 20 years ago and it finally ran out of puff at the end of another very busy day of cutting on a job last summer. Great saw.

I did a LOT of thinking about the replacement:biggrin: and in the end narrowed it down to three candidates.

Husq 365 is the same performance but feels much lighter.

372xp is lighter, more cc's and a much more modern saw(vibes/emissions)

MS460 is the same size and weight but LOADS more grunt:icon14::icon14:

How's your back?

How's the HAVS?

How deep are your pockets?

Buying a new saw only happens rarely for most of us, so enjoy!
