I realise recently there was someone asking if 360 parts would interchange with a 362, but what about 360/361?

I have chance of buying an MS361c but not sure if I will be able to get on with the extra safety chain break. I also have a heap of 360s so could be an option to change the "C" to standard if I dont get on with it.

So, anyone know if the handles, brake ring, clutch cover etc will swap?

i have one with the second chain break and i love it, its relly good for coppicing with people around you picking stuff up, it dosnt et in the way at all, when u release the back handle it doesnt activate the frount break handle so u dont need to reset it

Yeh, I see there must be advantges with it, just heard some folk hate it though.

I guess the front brake is virtually redundant then, and only clicks in with a kick back, otherwise you leave it open all the time?

yes pritty much mate,, closed when u start the saw from cold tho, the only reason some folk hate it is if ur not carful with it ie dont let the saws run down abit befor letting go, it get very hot and goes through needle bearings quickly. u need to grease them regularly

Ok, sounding good so far, I could be tempted.

I see Mr Jones is selling 362s at about £550 inc vat at the moment without a bar. So given these saws(361) are now obsolete and the "C" was never a good seller, how much would be a fair price be for one?
