Hi all , has anybody had any experience of grinding Palm stumps, I have a mate who lives down in Andalucia, south of cadiz. Just been out there with him, there are loads of palm stumps around in streets and generally everywhere as lots are being lost due to a disease, therefore potentially lots of stumpgrinding work... we were wondering what they grind like, would the fibres clog up a grinder / could it be done with a small pedestrian 13hp machine or would something larger be necessary.. ?

Any thoughts on this appreciated..

It really depends on the number and size. I have ground down a few dozen in my day and you won't so much have chips to deal with, more like grinding rope made of hemp. The drier the better and faster. I would go with a larger piece of equipment only because it is faster and time is $$$.
