Can anyone give me some information on apple cord wood, does it make a good firewood or have any other markets?

I got job grubbing out 12 acres of orchard, 250 trees per acre equates to 3000 trees total.

Each tree has 4-5 feet of straight timber at roughly 8-9 inches before the crown spreads.

Is there much of a market for this?:confused1:

For firewood it takes a long time to season, it makes good charcoal tho. Woodturners like it, it's a shame your to far away i would be intrested in some.

there is a market for everything garth! horses for courses and ice to the eskimos my friend.if your job was 10 miles from me i would offer to do that job on the cheap subsidised by wood (albeit slow drying) which i can sell 18 months later.its all about foresight,if you can afford to,stack it in a yard, mix it up with ash, hawthorn, beech etc and sell it at a premium,if you don't do logs then sell it on green by weight, steve
