changing my processor

I thought there was another dealer for Dalen but perhaps not.

 

thats jeffery borland who used to work for M.Large, he's the dealer for marshall in Ireland and Scotland

 

I still have my hakki as after the last two years I thought there would be alot of people doing firewood so thought it a bit risky spending 10k plus.

 

I'm thinking along the same lines there, 5 people started up this year within 5 miles of me, it used to be a niech market, now tom, dick, harry and thier cousins are all doing it

 

 

It turns out the winter has been mild as well. From what I have seen cord is getting bigger so you need a big machine but big machines make big logs. People want small logs for wood burners. I dont get alot of jams on the splitter I have in the past when the splitter needs sharpening, the belts are not tight enough, the hyd pump is knacked or relief valve blowing off to early. I think my splitter is only 5-6 tonnes. At least 1/2 my wood is too big for any uk processors. My best investment was a upright 13 tonne splitter.

 

I,ve found that too big cord= big machine = big firewood=customer complaints

the dalen does not look as good as the new all hydraulic hakki 37 and they are both around the same price. for the saw bench option one with a output conveyor is a must to save picking logs up off the floor. the riko 700 looks good for these and not a silly price

Agreed. Whilst my only experience of them was whilst working for Riko, I really got on well with it - knocked the socks off my old HP Hawk in every way and took bendy stuff well too. very fast and easy to use.

Does not matter how good the Dalen was it would not be an option for us. I am glad there is a good Hakki Pilki in competition as the service we have had from Large tree has always been excellent.

looking for a change of processor, had a japa and a hakki, so wondered what your thoughts were on other models.

 

i do arb waste, and the nice straight pricey stuff too

 

i also have a 30ton posch too, so even considering getting a saw bench, the only problem i see with that is where to get the blade sharpened/repaired, as our local ones have closed down cos the sawmills have gone.

 

opinions are welcome and encouraged from the dealers on here too

 

We post our blades, and they get posted back,(Gateshead) costs around £30 but if I drove to workshop and back to collect would loose a days work and fuel costs for c.120miles.

I dont want to say on a public forum but there is nothing wrong with the machine.
