Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor springs to mind. Can't remember the name of the sitcom but I'm sure Easy-List Guy can help me out.

 

Tool Time. Actually Bob Vila appeared on several episodes of the sit-com. At least with tool time I knew who was Playing the good hearted fool.

Bob Vila on the other hand, not so much.

Oh dear that was bad. And he was actually showing people how to cut a tree!!

Scary stuff for any fool thinking "well i saw it on tv so now i am off out to cut that tree in the garden"

 

You can tell he's not really used a saw being all shaky with it. It is scary to think that someone watching it trusts his demo through and though. All he needed to do was to call a local tree surgeon and for them to demo the basics so that it was close to being ok. Lucky he nudged the tree as it started moving. Mental.

Agreed & once finished he swings around with the saw bar held on its cutting axis.

 

Ugly at best.
