A mate has asked me to post this thread. He is looking for authorised subbies in Scotland for a contract he is going to have a go at. PM me with your details and I'll pass them on.

Ha. Good luck with that. Getting Scottish power Authorisation is a trial of fiery burning hoops to jump through. They tried to blackmail me into working up there to gain my authorisation....

Scottsh Power is the hardest REC in the country to work for.

We had a tender invitation come through recently for some of their work, I decieded to leave alone as like pete said above, some of the catergories are pretty hard to put a figure on? I didn't knwo getting authorisation was that difficult so I think its probably best I didn't bother.

Trouble is they'll end up with muppets doing the work or one of the big facillities managment companies doing it and the little man won't get a look in. It's almost as if they plan it this way

You do your ua1, ua2.1 - 2.2, thats not good enough, you gotta do there crappy training to. Oh and according to them its ok to shove your insulated rods between a 11kv line in the live zone..............OK then.

I could rant on, but i'll stop now.

No do carry on as it has relevance to this thread, just quantify your experiences i.e were you an employee of a sub contractor or was it your own company etc.
