Work wanted in Edinburgh

Hi all,

I am looking for casual, part or full-time work (whatever I can get!) in central Edinburgh. I moved here a couple of months ago and am yet to find work.

I am currently volunteering on a daily basis with the Scottish Wildlife Trust, while studying for a Foundation Degree in Arboriculture. I have a National Diploma in Arboriculture and NPTC's CS30, CS31 and CS38, as well as experience in climbing and ground work. I have my own PPE.

I would be happy to work for free for a trial period, I am willing to work weekends and holidays, and I am not above spending all day feeding a chipper.

For a CV or other information please get in touch at [email protected]

Cheers,

Chris

I am also interested with working/ volunteering with local consultants, tree officers or surveyors, in order to gain experience and knowledge in surveying and tree inspections, as well as anything to do with bats, ecology, conservation, woodland management...

Again, I am willing to work for free.

Chris

I'm trying to get onto a large Sitka spruce thinning job in West Lothian at the moment, but everything is grinding to a halt with Christmas. Would felling large spruce on tonnage rate appeal? I would expect the quickest cutters to be dropping 20 tonne a day in this woodland.

Nothing is going to happen until January, but if it is something you would consider, I'll keep you in mind!

they will get hung up so just stretch a bit and undercut them off the others, usually end up in a bit of a pile David:laugh1:

might all be 2m pulp though:lol:

Nah i only hang up trees when i am being watched, sods law that. Its like trying to throw the throwbag, if your being watched it goes everywhere but where you want it, if your on your own you get it first throw and there is nobody around to pat you on the back and give you a tenner for a good show:lol:

I'm assured that it's a stand that's been thinning before, so shouldn't hang too badly! The beauty of the bigger trees IMO is that you just can't stack them, so you actually end up lifting less.

We'll see what happens in the New Year.....

Sorry for the derailment of your thread Chris!
