I refuse to use it on the basis that a couple of co's who are involved in the scheme local to me are totally unworthy of the so called 'recomended, trusted and checked' status.

Complete and utter joke!!

I think you do get a few bad eggs on it but if they're that bad they won't get any decent feedback , if you keep giving the reputation cards out after each job your feedback score will go up and be up to date while the dodgy folk will fall behind.

We get alot of work from it and according to he who pays the wages it is by far the most cost effective form of advertising we use

I am aware that i'm cutting off my nose to spite my face over this.... as a lot of people use it to find a contractor - whatever work they may do.

I have been trimming back my advertising of late, and its made no difference to the ammount of business i'm getting.

I would like to be involved with a scheme that represents honest, decent tradesmen.... but this one doesn't sit well with me when i know who i would be associated with locally!!

Paul, it does seem to be a good source of new customers according to a friend who uses it for their plastering and decorating business..... perhaps i need to get over it and accept that it could be good for business!!!
