Just having a brouse round some Firewood websites to get some ideas and stumbled across this one

https://www.logsdirect.co.uk/Catalog-Kiln-Dried-Hardwood_14.aspx

Hats off to the fella if he is selling Dumpie bags @ £145 each and 1cm crates for £150. The logs in the crates look great if you have a truck with suitable crane to lift off. Fair play to him for trying something different there.

Also nice to see someone more expensive then me :)

Those crates are all imported from the Baltic or Russia. He is marketing quite hard both retail and through the stove trade. Had a stand at the annual stove show.

Think the bags are filled here from the crates, at the end of the day the carriage in a pallet carrier is likely to be £40 so the price is about right in my book.

customer today, bought 3 bags from some tree surgeon at stocksbridge for £80 total, wet and wont burn,

We all have that issue, problem is it will burn next winter !!. Its just a matter of it the guy has storage space.

Strikes me that if he is prepared to sell for that amount processed you might be able to buy some cheap cord from him !!.

I've mentioned that website to a couple of my customers if they ever ask how my prices compare to other people... someone must be buying it though or they wouldn't be in business so fair play to them.

That'll be the guy whose spamming the local discussion forum here in Sheffield posing as a "happy customer" having bought 3 bags of "seasoned and split hardwood" for £80.

Sadly his maths skills are as good as his wood, he keeps posting that he bought 3 square metres of wood.
