I would ask for a full refund and half the wage bill for that day. Aim high and accept a reasonable offer.

thats what i should get, but i would just be happy to get my money back. Im not going to back down on them, il just keep making a nuisance of myself until they pay up, just checking with you lot if i had hard standing, which it would appear i do. cheers

Is it possible it wasnt fully charged when you got it?

Sounds like an exact machine to one I hired from TP a while back for a similar job. Ours came fully charged and would have lasted until at least mid afternoon, but we plugged it in at break and lunch time and it was fine all day.

If it wasnt charged give them hell, if the battery is US give them hell. You should have got biggest part of the day from it.

Just remember ''The customer is ALWAYS right'' of course your right. If the hire company wants your custom they should understand your predicament. It sounds like the batteries are getting old. From my experience they should last longer than that, IF fully charged.

Yes they said they tested it back at the yard at it was fine, but i reckon they hadn't charged it properly as you say, I think iv got a good argument against them, if they get funny then il say they should have stated clearly before hiring it that despite me paying a full days rate this machine is actually barely capable of two hours work.

Id say if they didnt supply one you have a very good point.

However, if there was one with it on a day hire they may say it should be re charged after say "x" No. of hours. That said, if they didnt give you a run through on hand over you may be able to argue from that point.

There may be something in the small print in the hire agreement paperwork, check that first.
