hey guys, i have a husq 353 that im planning to sell.it just sits in the shed now as my 346 has taken front seat. i think it has an air leak somewhere as chain running on loads at idle, ive adjusted idle screw but that doesnt stop it. chains correct tension etc. anyway my question is do i get the saw fixed before selling it? is it worth spending the money on? or just sell it as it stands? :confused1:

Couple of questions, can you bring the idle speed down to normal idle speed? If your idle speed is normal and the chain is running, it will be your clutch springs or just binding between the clutch sprocket and the crank shaft through dirt or tight bearing etc.

If the idle can't be brought down to a normal speed by using the idle screw then it is probably and air leak and is probably relatively easy to fix.

If you can fix it yourself then do it before sale as you will lose value on it otherwise sell it as is but clearly state that it runs but the chain runs on - simple fix to guys in the know how!

If you get stuck, PM me and I will help out.

ok, i will have a good look/clean over the weekend and see what the outcome is. the clutch is fine, so that rules that out, but i'll dig deeper. if it turns out to be relativley cheap and easy then i will fix before selling.

thanks very much for the advice and help.
