Just looked on the met office chart and it forecasts a low of 960 mb north of Scotland - hasn't been that low for a long time.

With no big winds for so long, none in September which could mean alot of weak boughs down. Driving along a local lane a few yrs ago found a big larch across the road with a local farmer trying his best so gave him a hand, only to get loadsa obuse from all the drivers - they though I was from the council so its ok to obuse me - cleared the tree up, but never again.

You should've given them loads of abuse back, they would all phone up the council to complain :laugh1::laugh1:

A few years back I was driving down to do some subbie work for Matt at east Devon tree care (gibbon on here) it was pelting it down with snow and was slow going along the north devon link road, got to Tiverton and all roads were shut, phoned Matt and cancelled. On way back we got diverted away from link road and sent behind plough towards bampton, plough got stuck so we all had to turn and head back to morrisons car park to await further instruction, on way back we came across 2 large oaks that had gone over and totally blocked the road, and one hung up about to go, being the good citizen that I am, and having all my gear in the back I started cutting to clear road, local farmer turns up with tractor and starts towing sections away. Just started to fell the hung up one and council turn up and asked what we were doing, asking why we had no traffic signs out, and said they didn't think it was a good idea to be working on the road in such conditions. They honestly thought we were just out felling roadside trees for firewood!!!!!
