More time off for the teachers then!!!

 

Question

 

Would teachers be so keen to close the schools if their pay was affected?

 

Did the teachers close the schools or did the education authority make that decision????

But thats life isn't it?, dealing with weather etc, kids these day are so mollycodelled that they can't-aren't expected to think their way out of out of situations,

 

I remember only too well when i was in school the things i had to do just to get to school, cycle down farm tracks, up the other side(pushing), back down the other side, over a footbridge, through the wood, all because it was a short cut for me, and i thought nothing of it, it was normal, i wasn,t the only one either.

 

I don't recognize kids now, they are more akin to teddy bears, strapped up in mummy's 4x4 just like they are having a ride in alton towers,

 

 

no wonder when kids leave school now that they are don/t know their a*** from their elbow, its not their fault its the society we live in.

When you were at school was there drugs? Sex? Cyber bullying?

 

 

I think a lot of people who moan about how easy everything is now had it easier themselves.

They must be different sorts of teachers that I know then. Yes, the school might close for a week or more on a regular basis, but all those teachers I know spend most of the weeks "holiday" marking assignments, doing lesson plans and a whole heap of other performance measuring paperwork and reports that the gummint insist on. They all work at least one day of every weekend too, and as for short hours, all those I know are at work soon after seven, and they always have work to bring home with them at night too.

 

Apart from all that - I wouldn't wish some of the kids they have to deal with on anyone. Surely if teaching was such a fantastic job - then we'd all be doing it!

 

County, there's no might about it, they do have 1 week off in every 6. don't play down that fact, so now they work one day of every weekend????, also they are in school by seven in the morning, thats what i call stretching it a bit

He could of gone and studied to become a teacher and had the time off that the teachers have , good luck to them , my wifes a teacher and the stress levels are very high .

Windy out here today as well , im on 24 hour stand by for the council and Tuesday night we had a fatality where a car crashed into a tree now things like that stop me moaning .

I'm not saying that they don't stop going to school for a week every time the kids are on holiday - I'm saying the ones I know ALL spend most of that week we see as "another bloody holiday for the teachers" working on school stuff. That's not what I'd call a holiday. And ALL the ones I know start work well before the kids do.

 

I know five teachers as friends in different parts of the country - and they ALL work way more hours than many people would imagine. I think the last "official" average number of hours I saw was about 57 a week. And yes - all the ones I know do at least one day of every weekend too. There's a hell of a lot more to teaching than standing at the front of the class shouting at kids and scribbling on a blackboard!

 

As I said - if it was such a great and cushy job, why aren't we all doing it? I certainly couldn't cope with it!

This storm has had disastrous consequences for me.

 

The high winds have increased the draw on the chimney causing the oven to get hotter and burnt my chips.

 

And the mobile network seems to be down, if I loose the landline I won't be getting any work out of it. At least I'll get a good nights sleep!
