Im over the channel in france and looking to buy a 346xp, when in my local dealers I noticed it had a silver clutch cover, and a primer bulb.

I know the silver cover de-notes the new higher power model, but do they all come with primer bulbs, or is this just a France thing?

Ive had primers split in the past and dont see a place for it on pro kit, so would rather not have one.

I always buy in the UK (Home) anyway, but wonder if I can specify a saw without bulb?:confused1:

The silver side's all do have the bulb, and I completely agree that a primer bubble has no place on a pro saw. I do, however, know of a guy with a 346 that managed to puncture the bubble and it still runs fine. I was quite surprised as I thought it would leak, but it doesn't :confused1:

Thanks for clearing that up for me, might look for a good secondhand old style one and get it overhauled?

Thanks guys:thumbup:

If you are that bothered by the bulb, just fit the older style top cover, take out the bulb and seal the pipes! It does help after it has run out of fuel but you soon forget it when the saw hits 14,000RPM and starts wailing:thumbup:
