Got a whopper of a dying beech to fell,all sorts of fungus all over it,am i correct ib thinking its more likely to be spalted because of this?

If so does any one require any?if not it ll go for firewood. Its near Taunton.will get some pictures tommorrow.

Only one way to find out, cut it and see. Try to find a wood turners forum and offer it on there, you should find someone who will be pleased to take it.

Depending on the fungi present and the types of woodrot they cause, the answer is yes. The below photo shows, what kind of pattern the soft rotter K. deusta can "create" in beech.
