Lad out working today and they found Mistletoe growing on Hawthorn - nearly went into the chipper, nice big amount. Is it normal to grow on Hawthorn, tend to think of oak & druids:001_huh:

Its fairly common around my area. I saw 3 old hawthorns in decline with it today. I've seen one on a stretch of trailway we manage. The hawthorn is almost dead and the mistletoe is growing with what energy the tree has.

Many thanks - I tend to think of the Welsh border area for Mistletoe and old fruitwood, I remember something about a market for mistletoe near Leominster. But it's not normally seen around our area North Oxon
