The new ' Barbarian ' looks like a different animal though, will be interestind to hear some reviews on it.

My last 2 days' customer has one....he cant with to get rid of it. Off the road in the garage more than on, drinks fuel, and rattles he reckons.

I was not unimpressed by TCD's l200 'forwork'. Not my bag at all- not enough room, too car like and not enough towing capacity etc etc, but a fairly solid comfortable hybrid of a car and a proper off road vehicle.

However all these chrome covered hairdressers things with names like Barbarian, warrior, Pathfinder (BTW at Duchy college the slowest students' group are called the pathfinders:lol:) are, IMO, a joke.

Everything always gets compared to a Landrover, there not a bad pickup turning circle is bad as said, there no worse on fuel than anything else, and with the mitsubishi power upgrade a full tank can you 400 miles.

Parts can be got easy second hand as the country's full of them, and there cheap dealers new parts are crazy prices.

Agree with you on the horrendous turning circle ( you will definetely get some funny looks from car drivers) . also on the fuel economy its surprisingly been the only positive thing about it. Land Rover is not looking too good on that front unfortunately.

Yip the lock is that bad on them that catch yourself out turning in a drive, if you don't get out for the swing in you can over shoot and look a right learner.

Its alot worse than the Defenders. I was definetely shocked when i test drove the defender though for being such a short coupled vehicle.

 

Sorry for going off thread but i bought my first edition of Land Rover Monthly and get the feeling I'm entering a different world.
