I'm sure when I did my hgv test all unmarked bridges are 16feet 6inches high or more. And from working with bt on street trees I thought all overhead cables had to be 5.5 meters at the lowest point (sag). I might be wrong though!!

It looks like those rules only apply to the city, the lines which come off the post are about 14ft and drop to about 12ft. I'll be ringing WPD tomorrow. I'm going to check my deeds if the poles on my land I'll ask them to remove it and bury the lines,

Yep, called wayleave, its either so much per year OR a larger one off payment when the pole is erected.

this is correct unless the previous owner of the property took a one off lump sum lifetime payment, then you get very small amount...
