I've just seen the student protest that happened yesterday in London, there seemed to be alot of "kettleing" going on by the police.

My question is: Have we got the right to a peaceful protest in this country, or do the powers that be tell us how we protest ?

My partners parents got "Kettled" by the police at the weekend in the capital but then her dad was a shop steward during his career in the power industry and a well known trouble maker.:)

I am sure that there are rules and regs. for peaceful assembly in your country as here in America. That being said when the news crews are there and the malcontents and the like wish to mix it up with the Police all bets are off and it's Clobbering Time, esp when there is injury and destruction of property.
