Does anyone have experience of this machine.

Will it do normal tree brash

Is the chip size different or is it just mashed

How long do the hammers last compared to chipper blades

Service intervals etc.

Just thinking, because we do mainly domestic we end up putting alsorts through the bandit and go through knifes like I don't know what.

Put a newly sharpened set on which lasted two hours after putting some ivy through. Despite carefully checking the ivy for debris and bits of pointing.

I was wondering about using one of them instead of a standard chipper

GreenMech blades fair better than flats on "contaminated" material - I only had five years of use with my two, but never bought any new blades. But was buying say 2 sets a year for my other machine @ £330 per set!

The Saelens has a set of straight edge blades and shear bar and also hammers. So you still end up with blade issues.

Who knows! Not until its ready I suppose. Tell me, what do you know of it and from whom? As to retro kits, its only steel, so if somoeone wants to pay for the conversion it might happen. But then, we are really too busy building machines to consider that, even if the rumour was true. When are we seeing the new machines from Redwood - chipper and grinder?
