comes under loler as do cranes, forklifts, workshop hoists, tail-lifts, stairlifts and bath lifts in old peoples homes and hospitals, anything that lifts or lowers objects and particularly people

 

thats what the chap that loler'd our teleporter told me, he'd done a dockside crane before it and was on his way to loler the stairlifts and bath lifts in a home afterwards

I think a mewp comes under puwer.!:confused1:

 

 

Actually they will all come under separate legislation as it applies to Mobile lifting equpt, self-propelled lifting equpt blah blah.....

Its n academic argument anyways as puwer require it be done, loler sets the standard....I told you it was a nightmare eh....!

As for the thread. I think depending on the job required and the position of the job two people may at times be beneficial (e.g working over obsticals) and we cant rule it out intirely. But on the other hand working on your own can also be easier for positioning.

agreed, there are going to be times when the extra communication link between two persons may slow the job down, but two operators who know their job well im sure can also make for a more fluent operation.

 

ps. mewps may well come under puwer as well! just to make it more complicated for us.

I was talking with a fella who was using a truck syle mounted lift, like what bt use and the like...he was in the city, with no-one on the floor to rescue him...should it malfunction..or if someone nicked the keys as he was somewhat remote you might say......Sadly, there was no start from the bucket...could be embarassing, remember your phone would be my advice!!!lol

I wouldn't us one out of choice, but if I had to I would take my rope with me just in case!
