Well when the beer money boys decide demand has forced them to buy in the wood, and realise its not as easy as they once thought, you'll see an increase in their price.

Quality!!! Buy cheap, buy twice!!!!

I put a lot of work and effort into creating a good product for the customer, so I'm not prepared to give it away!!!

I think it's a case of when the beer money boys stop knicking the timber! I signed for 20c3 a few weeks ago, when I got there the stack was bare! It was nice WRC, I was compensated with a load of hornbeam. Two weeks later there was an add in countrywide stores offering softwood loads sourced from the local woodland!

I would guess softwood is cheaper in South Wales because there is a lot of forestry there. (also there is a lot of coal, which may bring the price down).

Unfortunately you guess wrong :-(

And all the coal is underground and staying there!!!

are those the going rates rates for your area, or you undercutting everyone???

We are very rural, I'm a bit over the average price I think, I see plenty of cheaper logs advertised. But I only sell seasoned and barn stored logs, so get plenty repeat orders. Also we dont tip logs, they get handballed off into a log store or wherever, and that is not charged for. would like to sell for more, especially the hardwood logs

I really cant understand why more people dont go for softwood! Thats all i burn now and its so good. Alot of people say it burns alot quicker than hardwood but i really cant say im puting more on now than i was when burning hardwood and heat output is the same if not a bit higher

a builders bag of seasoned hardwood is £30 in llanelli, which is about the same as near me.

where are you from phil, i`m not far from llanelli but i`ve not seen them that cheap

obviously just doing it for the exercise at that price, for me, I can stay at home all day and lose money easier than selling at that price :confused1:
