Last week in the evening I had a friend of a friend call about a cat up a tree(his tree neighbours cat). It was 3 mins drive away so I agreed to rescue said cat. 10 minutes up an Oak and down with "Misty" 40 quids. Job done.

This morning , old boy owner of the cat arrives , "Thanks" and a bottle of wine , then Its can I have a reciept for the Cats rescue charity who actually own the cat.

Errr, yes but you have to pay the Vat which is £ 7.00 as I thought the £ 40 was a gift from a friend.

Silly old man got a little funny as they do. :confused1:

What is wrong with people, at weekends and dusk I have better things to do with my time than rescue cats .

I told him that I would charge double next time as I what I had done was for a friend.

Whats your views on this arbo-chums.

"Thanks", a bottle of wine and that nice warm glow you get from doing a nice thing would've been plenty for me. Not what you wanna hear, no doubt. And yes, I'll probably always be poor!

Done one. Charged £60. Not a friend and on a Sunday.

Took bag and gloves but the little fella jumped on me and clung on all the way down.:001_smile:

I have a mental image of the cat clinging on to you, claws an all.

Ouch.

Do you do free tree work? or for the wood maybe?

Not a chance!!!!

I think the good publicity you get for an act of kindness, is better than any advertising, the worlds a small place and word soon gets round.

If you can, get the press involved and get your Co's name in the article!!

Plus I like cats!!

I like cats too but they make me sneeze too much so I cant have one to love.

I run a business and I dont do free tree work and call the paper for a story. Why is that any different.

( actually I did have a story printed after a tree fell on a house on a Sunday morning , but that was a payer too)
