Large Oak butt

hi guys,

Got a good oak to fell soon, she is 120cm diameter at base and roughly 20 foot to first branch and its straight. My client does not want the butt due to the work involved to turn it into firewood plus it will be a damn shame to ring it up. There is some small epicormic growth 6 foot up up, and a medium wound thats heeled at a similar height, i am sure there must be someone out there that will be able to do something useful/creative with her, she is in the newark area in nottinghamshire, anyone interested feel free to contact, cheers

Better milled than carved I would say. The repaired wound devalues it a bit, but it's otherwise a good stem by the sounds of it.

with the luck I have kilning oak, i'd say burn the damn thing

what about an oak beam ,we do alot of beams from the timber we get

Sounds a nice butt what's the access like to it i.e. could you get a hiab to lift it out in a couple of sections?
