I have had bits for my ATC from the local dealer but its been cheaper (a lot) buying from ebay in the US. I had a ATC200E and I really miss it having sold it. what ever happens dont damage the drive shaft as the shaft alone is about £200

Yes Honda still do a full range of spare parts for the ATC range, through your dealer. For a return spring I would hardly think it worth going through the hassle of importation from the States, just think the postage will cost more than the part!

I needed some bits for the recoil starter and it was cheaper to import by a large amount, but you wait 3weeks for parts vs a few days for UK dealer parts

On my ATC 250 I just fitted a much stronger spring over the cable inners between the outers and the brake actuator on both the foot and hand brake cables- seemed to do the job.

Inner cable pulls into the outer cable when you brake, right? Have a spring or a couple wound together over the inner between the end of the outer and where the inner is clamped to the drum lever. Get the length so there's a bit of pre-tension, then this will act as a return spring of sorts.

I've never managed to get the rear drum feeling all that positive though- this is technology that's over a quarter of a century old!
