Work back from what you think you can sell it for and work out your pricing from that.

 

Cherry for instance, I'm happy to pay about £5 on the hoppus measure for. It costs a couple of quid to convert it, a couple of quid to stack it and spray it and a couple of quid to kiln it. Total cost £11, sale price about £28-£30, which still gives a 50% margin once allowing for drying related defects.

As ever, great advice. I can now give the accountant some idea of the value of my own wood - cos I too am clueless regards its worth. I'm alright at cutting and building with it, but when it comes to £££.......
