How would your insurer ever be aware of it, especially on a second-hand vehicle?

 

 

Plug a computer system into the engine management ECU, that will show the settings and who set them up. Each machine leaves a fingerprint in the ECU of the last person to access it.

 

Dont forget its the loss adjusters job to get the insurance company off the hook payment wise in the event of a claim, they are well aware of such things. Some of these tuning devices are external so fairly easy to spot, others are simply the existing ECU being re mapped.

HI alycidon our insurer the nfu was ok with a remap or new chip with old td5 thanks jon :thumbup:

 

As long as you have it in writing then you are covered, I also found NFU helpful in another situation recently.
