Foresty timber north Wales or Scotland

Afternoon all, a friend of mine has approached me regarding conducting some deforestation in north Wales. Now this may be quite a nice little side line to my timber trailer however if it works and we can sell the wood I wouldn't mind continuing with it. So again I ask another couple of questions 1) who buys large quantities of timber? Am I best selling it planked, sawn, or as is? And 2) who can I approach to continue this venture if it works (get hold of the the land to fell the timber)

I look forward to your thoughts!

1) who buys large quantities of timber?

Sawmills, firewood merchants, timber merchants, timber agents etc.

Am I best selling it planked, sawn, or as is?

Depends just how long your piece of string is. How much time have you got? What are your overheads? What gear do you own?

Who can I approach to continue this venture if it works (get hold of the the land to fell the timber)

Estates, factors, land agents, farmers, forest owners etc.
