Log splitter for splitting very knotty,beech, oak etc

Great looking bit of kit you built, like the pedal swithgear.

 

I often use a big Simba cultipress and it uses very simply clamp-on collars around the main lifting ram for depth adjustment. Imagine a big peg pegged on the cylinder with chamfered inner edges to protect the seal. There's three different widths for endless combinations for fine tuning.

 

Edit: Would it not have been easier to just drill some holes in the H-beam for different hights of R-clippage?

 

If i put it in the h-beam, how would that stop the ram? It needs to 'lift' the rod to move the vlave into neutral position?

well, that was a stupid remark on my part then wasn't it:biggrin:

 

I meant no critique on your contraption, I just enjoy trying to make things simpler and easier, especially on home-made stuff. I often end up making horribly complicated contraptions to "make things easier" though:biggrin:

Ha ha ha ha i was wondering for a while what u were meaning, thinking 'damn have i missed an easy option' tis like that sometimes simplicity becomes complexity of its own making!!!!

 

I like critism, it only makes u stronger, or drunk...........:lol::lol:
