out of interest what makes you want one of these over a cheaper wire puller?

The thing that looks great about these is that you can pass an unlimited length of rope through the puller- it doesn't spool up, it's passed out the back....

If you're felling or rolling logs around for a mill or sculpture it looks absolutely ideal, there's no need to mess about re-rigging all the time. I think the best bet if you want one would be to go direct to Baileys in the States.

In case someone finds this old thread here is a UK supplier in Dorset

Treekit - Maasdam Rope Puller

and one in Germany.

Freeworker - Maasdam Rope Puller - climb up high!

I bought one 2yrs ago direct from USA and paid shipping as then I could not find a UK supply at anything like the same price.

Really love the rope puller - rope is easy on hands compared to wire and you get a continuous pull for the whole length of the rope (minus maybe 1 ft) and worked well to pull upright a wind blown whitebeam in a garden in a single pull.
