Someone contacted me regarding planking of a yew tree in there garden. It is in maidenhead, Berkshire. They said:

 

"It is roughly 1m diameter at chest height. There isn’t great access: not possible for a truck, it would have to be moved manually on a trolley or something. Some sort of mobile mill sounds perfect. Ideally, I would keep a few planks and the person chopping it can have the rest. It was lopped at about 5m high >5 years ago, but it isn’t fully dead, as shoots continue to grow out of one side."

ok so sorry if this sounds stupid but what is shake?

 

It is a naturally occuring split generally in the middle of the truck. It enables the solid tree trunk to flex by allowing movement within the trunk.
