Inonotus dryadeus

Recommended Posts

1. on oak, but seen photos (reliable) of it on beech also

2. as for robinia, its possible but suspect it was more likely Perenniporia fraxinea.

1. Reliable identification by whom and from photo's alone ?

2. Perenniporia fraxinea is perennial, has whitish spores and does not guttate.

1) you saw this image a while back when i posted a link, and doubt even you would argue as to its identity!

2) given the guys lack of image or description i am basing this purely on likelyhood of occurence for which perenniporia would be in the u.k more likely along with Ganodermas.

1. Already having a "tonsur" because of too much and too often exposure to acid rain, I would if I could  !

2. There are, but what other species of Inonotus are known and documented from Robinia ?

I will go check the FRDBI:thumbup:

no inonotus species noted on robinia! out of 58 records, pretty poor number i feel
